Community Involvement

Maple Leaf Foods is committed to fulfilling it's role as a responsible citizen and believes in giving something back to the communities in which it operates. In this regard our purpose is two-fold:

• Our business earns the respect and loyalty of our employees, customers and the communities in which they reside; and,
• More importantly, it improves our society and the well being of its citizens.

Maple Leaf Foods has been designated as a "Caring Company" by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy through their IMAGINE program. This means we donate, as a minimum, one per cent of pre-tax profits to worthy causes in the form of both cash and in-kind gifts. Our philanthropic giving focuses on three sectors:

• Effective health research and services
• Community and social services programs
• Education, particularly in the area of food nutrition research
